The 2012 delgation to San Juan de Limay returned to Baltimore after spending almost two weeks in Nicaragua. The group consisted of Barbara Larcom, Tom Hyatt, Louise Gregg, Kate O’Brien, Daniel O’Brien, Brittany Carter and Brittany Mendez. Besides bringing medicines, toys, sporting goods and other material aid to the people of Limay, the delegation visited with many groups in Limay and in the villages of El Zapote, El Guaylo and Agua Fria. The group met with coffee growers and bee keepers in the villages, visited families who had received new homes. toured the locations of recipients from loans from the Phil Mitchell Revolving Loan Fund, talked with students who are receiving grants to attend college in the city of Esteli and had many other great experiences living with families and touring the many projects that Casa Baltimore/Limay supports.
Look for more information, scheduled presentations and reactions to the trip once the delegation has a chance to reflect on their visit.
