Flooding has continued in Limay through the fall of 2010 blocking access roads, inundating bridges and once again cutting off Limay from access to Esteli and other cities. This has halted and destroyed some of the work on the new road from Limay to Esteli. One citizen of Limay writes:
“right now it is raining quite a lot. No bus transporatation is able to enter or leave Limay. Although we have electricity and potable water, we hope that things will not get more difficult. There are three shelters that are housing people and the civil defense is organizing to attend to those in need.
Crops have been damaged and many of the poorly constructed houses have not been able to withstand the heavy rains. Many citizens have moved temporarily to higher grounds to  stay safe.” More pictures are available here
